November 2009

Pat and Timmy can't stay out of the mountains. The trout won't stay off their hooks! Timmy caught a 21"! Robert dressed up as a Zombie and Zane scared all the kids in a Zombie mask while making funny noises like Billy Bob Thornton in Slingblade. Robert is keeping them busy with Cub Scouts and skateboarding. Please keep Tracie's sister in your prayers. Her sister, Mary had a malignant tumor that was removed. She will start radiation this month. Her husband is in Afganistan, but througt the Red Cross will be able to return when she starts radiation.

Dot and Jerry have been doing good. They both were sick but they are better now. All of Bud's kids seem to be doing better. Butch and Sheila bought a house and will be moving in at the end of December. Jacob has officially changed his last name to Shepherd. Wes' football team won their championship game. Emily won Most Promising Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year for GCGMA. She will go on to represent Georgia at the Nationals in Piegon Forge.

Tom and Linda did not send in any information about their family.

Nancy and Larry we in the crowd, live, when the Dawgs beat them! Jennifer and Drew are doing well. Emma is now 5 months. She is just growing and changing every day. She loves to go to Mrs. Sonera's, the lady that watches her during the day, and has been almost sleeping through the night. She wakes up to feed once, but usually goes right back to sleep. She loves to wake her mommy up earlier than it is time and she wakes up smiling! Jennifer and Emma also traveled down to the Georgia vs Auburn game. She met up with Larry and Nancy, and Granny watched Emma. School is going great! Jennifer has had a student teacher this semester and will start back teaching everything in a few weeks. Drew is doing very well at MAERSK and Dominos.

Bo and Vicky came for a weekend visit to Georgia. JoAnn stayed home with Ms. Smith. Ms. Smith is doing better. Well, Vicky's house was officially broken in when she came home from class one night and saw toilet paper on her mailbox, trees, and her front and back porches. The culprit even rolled out the words "ROLL TIDE" on her front lawn. (She is not an Alabama fan.) Some people said that she had it coming since she rolled several yards a couple of years ago, so she had several suspects but finally discovered it was one of her co-workers and her grandson who did it. Vicky only has 4 more classes to take and she will be finished with her Master's Degree. Right now, she is having to do a lot of research and big papers, but is really enjoying it. Hopefully, she will be finished by the end of this summer. Mary and Cletis went to their annual mystery dinner. Cletis was dressed as Will the Waiter. Mary was dressed as AnnaBelle. It was a lot of fun. Mary joined in on the fun at church on Halloween & dressed as the Queen of Hearts. Mary has started studying for the Bible Bowl which is in Feb. The books of for this years Bible Bowl are Eccl & Lamentations. Mary's team took 2nd place last year. Cletis has been sick, but is now all better.

Bim and Donna did not send in any news this month!

Beth and Gordon are joyfully awaiting November 28!

October 2009

Pat and Timmy did not send in any news about their family. Sharmin sent in this picture of Lexy! She will be 3 on October 24th! Sharmin wishes Maw Maw could see her. I think we can all agree.
Dot and Jerry have been doing good. Jerry got cited for disorderly conduct and has to go to court. Emily sang at at Pumpkin Festival and really had a great time. Butch and Sheila celebrated their first anniversary. Jacob is working with Tom at the concession stand. Wes football team is undefeated.
Tom and Linda did not send in any information about their family.

Nancy and Larry are doing well. They spent time with Suzy and the kids for their birthdays. After a horrible move Carmel and Suzy are back to a hectic schedule already. Suzy is very busy with teaching, taking the kids to gymnastics, Ella to speech class, and also keeping a 9 month old. She also teaches on Wednesdays at church. AND she is now on the education committee at church too. WOW, Suzy! Carmel recently took his Harley for a ride down the Dragon Tail. He has pictures and videos on his facebook page. Jennifer and Drew are working hard. Emma is staying at Mrs. Sonera's and has made a new friend. Vkay (Drews mom) stayed with them for about 5 weeks but has went home. They were sad to see her go.

Bo, Jo Ann and a friend at church did some pressure washing work on the Forest Service work center. They will not get paid until sometime this month. Bo also put up some new doors at Payne Lake. Jo Ann has been working on curtains for the rooms in Vicky's house. We invite you all to come to Centreville Church of Christ for Sunday morning Bible study. Bo gives everyone in his class a pop quiz. Jo Ann's mother had her bladder tack up and something went wrong with the surgery. Please keep Ms. Smith in your prayers. Vicky moved into her house Saturday, September 5. She is enjoying it more now that she has gotten used to all the creepy noises the house makes while it is settling. She still needs to hang some pictures on the walls and do some touch up paint in a few places. Bo is going to build a wall in the basement the covers the hot water heater, then he can say he is finished. Vicky would like to give a big thank you to everyone who contributed in the card and money that she received during the reunion this year. She used to money to purchase the dish washer that she desperately needed, since she doesn't do dishes. Mary and Cletis have been busy painting their house. Mary has also started clipping coupons, but admits that she is not as advanced as Suzy. Cletis flew out to Texas with his brother and debated a man about marriage, divorce, and remarriage. They are also training to run in a race. Mary ran 3 miles in 30 minutes. She admits that she about died doing it!

Bim and Donna did not send in any news this month!

Beth and Gordon are looking forward to 100% participation at the Parker Thanksgiving the Day After the Real Thanksgiving. An email was sent out asking people to sign up for certain things. If you did not get that email please let us know!

Tom and Linda did not send in any information about their family.
Nancy and Larry did not send any info in this month. Suzy and Carmel finally got moved into their new home. Their address is: 317 Lovern Circle Warner Robins GA, 31088. Carmel started his new job and Suzy is homeschooling Laney and Ella. Griffin is going to school and is in the 8th grade. Jennifer took her first road trip to see Suzy, Nancy, and the Rebecca. She says that she will never do that alone again! Vkay (Drews mom) will be staying with them for a month. Drew has played all of his games for the year and is still working at MAERSK and Dominos. Jennifer also had to change rooms this year but is fortunate to have awesome co-workers to help.
Bo and Joann have been doing well. Bo came to GA to attend the funeral for Alton Broach. He had to get back to finish putting in the carpet for Vicky's house. Vicky has been having fun! She took four boys from church to a VBS in another town then had a slumber party. They also went to the church and baked cakes and decorated with a football theme. Vicky was shocked to see that someone had taken all of Auburn stuff out and replaced it with Alabama stuff!!! She will be starting college classes (again) this month. Mary and Cletis have been working on putting a presentation together for their trip to Guyana. They want to thank everyone that prayed and supported their mission. They also enjoyed a visit from a couple that they met in Guyana.
Bim and Donna have been doing good. Donna recently did some more training for her work. She had to go to the Chateau Elan for the training. Bim and Jason enjoyed the trip very much! Donna had to make a quick trip home to check on Odie and Mollie. They also have 17 chickens and the roosters are just now beginning to crow. Donna, Odie, and Mollie go and feed the chickens every day. Odie likes to chase the chickens. Jason has been busy hooking up the new TV and sound system Donna has gotten. Jason works for cheap and does a good job too. All of the little ones enjoyed their summer and are now back in school. Brandon and Amanda re doing good and celebrated Michael's birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese.
Beth and Gordon moved Maribeth into her new home in Grant Park in Atlanta. Her school is a block away so she will be able to walk to work everyday. Parker is taking a full load of classes at Auburn and hopes to graduate December of 2010.

Gatlinburg~2010

Gatlinburg up-date:  8 out of the 15 bedrooms have been claimed. There are a total of 28 beds, which is enough for each family, but some of the beds are sleeper sofas. Remember, the rooms are on a first come, first serve basis. When you send your money, either send a list to Vicky of the top 3 cabins you would like to have, call her, or send her an e-mail with your choices. Also, let her know what size bed you would prefer. Then, she’ll give you the first choice you have that is available. After looking over our options, we will be going with the option that has the Smokey Bear Lodge (5 bedroom/6.5 bathroom), Mountain Haven (4 bedroom/4 bathroom), Crown Jewel (3 bedroom/3 bathroom), and Pinecrest (3 bedroom/3 bathroom). This option is cheaper and has more beds.  If we have a huge overflow, Vicky will call her contact and see if there are any other cabins near-by, but she knows these cabins are close to each other. Again the trip is June 11-13. The cost is $250. Check out the website if you haven't already: http://stonybrooklodging.com/

Parker Family News-June 2009

Ok folks! We are going to try and keep the flow of the blog just like the "paper" Proclaimer. Each month an email will go out requesting the news of each family and it will be put together (according to age-Pat-Dot-Tom-Nancy-Bo-Bim-Beth) just as the other one too. We will also incorporate some of the other topics such as the birthdays and anniversaries, the limelight, and also some new things too.
This one will be basic...we want to make sure that everyone can access this blog and get use to the new method of keeping our family connected. All you need is the link. It will work just as a website. You can check in as often as you like but there will be a general email to go out letting everyone know when a new blog has been posted. I would suggest saving it as a bookmark so it can be easily accessed. If you have any questions, or if there are any problems viewing the blog, or if there is something that you don't understand please email us at: parkerproclaimer@yahoo.com

Now...on with the juicy stuff!!

June is the month that the Parkers get together for their reunion. This year it took place in Pine Mountain. We all had a WONDERFUL time. The last total that Vicky gave out was 71 in attendance. Adventures to the Safari, Callaway Gardens, and FDR's Little Whitehouse were some of the hot spots visited by many members of the family. The pool was also a favorite attraction. Many thanks goes out to Vicky for coordinating, organizing, and even attempting to get this family together.

Jennifer gave birth to Emma Parker Daughtry on June 7th. She weighed 7lbs 10oz. She is beautiful...just like her mama. Crissy also gave birth on May 29th to Joby Lane McCannon. He weighed 9lbs 5oz. All mothers and babies are doing fine! Kerri got married May 31st to Pats next door neighbor, Wade. He has a son Kaleigh's age. Kasey Coody graduated from high school. Tonya and Scott threw her a surprise party and several members of the family came. It was a great time and Kasey was very surprised!!

Next years reunion will be in Gatlinburg, TN. Vicky already has the info ready and is already taking deposits. There are several cabins to choose from and it will be on a first come-first pay basis as to who gets what cabin and what room. She is asking for $100 up front. We will be getting the website link sent out in the next few days so you can view the cabins and all of the goodies that they offer.

Several family members are wanting to head up there for longer then the Friday-Sunday that has already been priced out. If there are any of you that are wanting to do the same thing PLEASE let Vicky know or email the Proclaimer staff. It would be cheaper if we had more people wanting to do the same thing.

This is all for now peeps! As before-an email will be sent requesting your news and any pictures you want published. For the disclaimer...please overlook any grammar issues. If any of you saw the way Vicky spelled karaoke (kerioky) then you would understand what we are working with here!!! HA HAAA!

Love and Blessings~
